Great News..................And A Lecture

Great news!!! It's all out, no spread, caught early, thank God and also thank my gorgeous husband Alan since he persuaded me to go in the first place. PHEW!!!

I go back in 2 weeks to find out when my treatment starts, definitely radiotherapy and possibly chemo. I don't care, I am just very very relieved that I caught this bugger early.

Now for the lecture.......

I got lucky (not unlucky), this was caught before it could be felt, so go for that mammogram, insist on it or pay for it if you have to. Sod the new shoes - get a mammogram

AND

Look after yourself, reduce the risk of getting cancer and don't put it off. When you have been diagnosed with this NOTHING else matters than your health. All the things you worry about day to day mean nothing to you. So......

Lose weight
Cut down on the alcohol ( I didn't!!)
Exercise
Look seriously at foods that are good for you and reduce the processed foods
Drink green tea

Nuff said...............................lecture done.

Good on you! I'm so pleased the news is good. Try to rest up before your treatment.

My mum swears by knocking milk and dairy products out of the diet too. A book by Jane Plant (title is something like Your Life in Their hands) is her bible. Not sure of it myself, but it might make interesting reading for you.

Just the best news Sam.

I did complain about having to go get a mammogram done a couple of months ago because the first one I had was so painful, so silly really when it can save your life!

Good luck with your treatment will be thinking of you xx

Its funny whose blogs we stumble upon isnt it?

If you ever want to chat/rant to someone detached but who knows how you feel, please feel free to give me a shout.

Take care and buy a stock of baby toiletries in for when you start your radiotherapy... rest when your body tells you too... use whatever support is available if you feel you want too.. I didnt out of stubbornness a long time ago but in recent years have done so and found it to be just the thing for me...

Give that husband of yours a hug from me..well done that man!
